Beautiful range of gardens well labelled with plenty of space, amenities and views. We had breakfast at the cafe and then traipsed around the gardens. Easy walk from city centre, thoroughly enjoyed the experience.

An extremely interesting and informative stroll around the gardens. A fabulous way to learn the history of the gardens and to gain insight into the more significant trees, plants and display objects therein. Highly recommended!

Very experienced tour guide. A beautiful way to get to know the gardens. Would recommend even if you are a local.

The Royal Tasmanian Botanical Gardens have an enviable collection of Southern Hemisphere cool climate trees. There's also the world's only plant house with a collection plants from Macquarie Island, which is mid-way between Tasmania and Antarctica. The Gardens are one of the oldest botanical gardens in the world, dating back to the early 19th century. The walking tour of the Gardens, which takes around 50 minutes, is well worth the effort.

Lovely spot and small enough to be able to enjoy the whole place in one visit. A lot of variety in the range of displays and plantings and supposedly some interesting wildlife as well (the guide promised us eastern barred bandicoots but they did not eventuate). A air bit of history in this one, as well as pop history as well given that this is the garden featured in Gardening Australia's regular segments on food gardens.

Wonderful morning guided tour with the family at Hobart’s Botanical Gardens. We had the best guide - Debbie. Thank you for all the information you imparted and your passion for these great gardens. Look forward to returning to see the rebuild of the old Fernery area which was wrecked by floods (opening around November 2021) and exploring more of the Gardens.

An informative session. Kate was very patient in articulating her story for my elderly parents. She adjusted the session to suit our needs.

The tour was amazing. Debbie knew all about the history and shared a lot of fun facts and interesting stories about the trees and flowers. It was so nice we even passed the tour time. One of the best walking tours I’ve had! :)
